About the Author
Driving from the south of England, north through the Lake District, and into Scotland, Fernando Torres was deeply moved by places like Warwick, Windermere and Glencoe. Many of those memories would later form the basis for what would become, The Shadow That Endures. Having worked for many years for ABC/Disney, Inc. (e.g. Boy Meets World, Family Matters, Grace Under Fire, Home Improvement, My Wife and Kids, Power Rangers, to name just a few of the shows he was associated with), he was aware that if you pull your audience into a new world, you must immerse them, completely. "I knew that just because a story was accessible, humorous, and moved quickly, didn't mean that it lacked the potential to touch people. Authors like Jonathan Swift, who wrote Gulliver's Travels, and C.S. Lewis, have shown us that a novel could both entertain and reveal greater truths." An aviator, educator, and accomplished traveler, he is able to bring a wealth of life experiences to his writing.

The Shadow That Endures by Fernando Torres Tells the story of Ian, who one day finds a mysterious globe at an antique shop called “All That Endures- Antiques for the Discerning Collector”. Ian takes it home and he ends up opening the globe to find a white stone. Ian sat studying the stone and he was transported to another world.
While in this new world, Ian makes friends and goes on an adventure of a lifetime (joining the army, battling dragons, maybe finding someone to love).
The characters were well rounded and the story had a nice flow. The author has taken his time to build the story. He does not try to rush through anything. The author allows the story to slowly build so the reader can take everything in, which then allows the reader to connect with the characters.
Torres’s writing style is wonderful and this was very descriptive. The world building was wonderful. You definitely were able to visualize everything he wrote about. The story has a good pace and is easy to follow. It has an alternating point of view.
This story was remarkable. Any fantasy lover would be a fool not to read the book since it is such a well thought out storyline.
