Well over 100 coloring pages in very small and detailed size – designs printed on one side with verses on the reverse

The designs are all licensed from Shutterstock and only a few of them are Christian in nature. They also appear to have been much larger images that have been sized down to fit in this book. Because of this, many of the designs have very small elements for coloring.

I found that I had to use gel pens and markers with small tips in order to color in these. For the sample photo I will post that I finished, I used Pilot Juice Ballpoint Gel Pens in size 0.38mm. I might have been able to use .5 for most but not all of the parts of this designs.

The designs are printed on one side of cream colored paper. Bible verses are printed on the reverse of the page. The pages are fairly thin and somewhat smooth to the touch. Many of the designs merge into the binding area. The binding is sewn rather than glued so you could remove several pages at a time without losing any portion of the design by simply snipping a few threads.

The book, while small, is thick. It made it a little more difficult to work with (along with the tiny elements.) These two difficult areas of working with this book is why I gave it a four star rating. I decided not to try to finish this design quickly. Instead, I spend time after lunch for a couple of days coloring it. That way, I could also meditate on one of the verses each day as I colored.

The Bible verses in the book are from a variety of translations, including: The Holy Bible, Contemporary English Version, The Holy Bible, English Standard Version, The Holy Bible New International Version NIV, the New King James Version, and The Holy Bible, New Living Translation.

When testing for coloring medium reaction with the paper, this is what I found:

Alcohol and water-based markers all leak through to some degree (except Tombows brush end which left a colorful shadow on the back of the page.)

India ink pens left colorful shadows on the page of the page.

Gel pens did not leak through but some (Tekwriter and Fiskars) left shadows when using dark or bright colors.)

Coloring pencils work well with this paper. Both oil and wax based pencils put down good color with both a light and firm touch. They both layered well. Wax based pencils did better in blending. Hard lead pencils left slight dents on the back of the page.

A Memorial Keeper

This Little Coloring Book is amazing... The illustrations are well done mostly; flowers, trees, hearts, birds and the like. Paper is good quality. It fits perfectly in my purse making it a great traveling/ waiting in the waiting room /visiting someone who needs encouragement, companion. I brought this sweet little book to visit my Mom as she laid in her sick bed unable to move, speak or see very well... I read her the three verses printed on each page and then described some of the illustrations on the adjacent page... It was a lovely visit with her... And her face brightened up by hearing the Word of the LORD read to her... Mom passed away two weeks ago... I now have this lovely little coloring book as a memorial of a very tender time her and I spend together... It's a keeper!

A sweet little coloring book!

I love this book. I gave it as a gift and then added it to my own wish list. I was surprised to find that it was a much smaller size than what I had expected. It's about the size of a hand with the fingers spread out. Although the small size was unexpected it's one reason I love it so much. It means it fits in my purse easily and it takes less time to finish a coloring project and to feel successful about what you've done. I bought this set of markers to give with the book. They are very fine tipped but it seems to work well since there is a lot of fine detail in the coloring pages. What a beautiful way to meditate on God's word!

Splendid book.

This is a book about the C# language and its uses rather than a game development book. And it's a bloody good one. I start making this statement in order to avoid confusion, as at the end of the day, it's called "Player's guide".

The reason why, is because it sort of points you in the right direction about the uses of the different functions and resources of the language when it comes to writing games. But then again, what this book will provide you is a solid understanding of the C# language, not only the basics, but pretty much everything you need to write thorough, elegant code as you make your first games.

About the author, RB Whitaker is the author of an acclaimed series of free XNA tutorials, that I personally consider one of the most well thought out I've found on the internet. I've used them a lot, and at first I bought the book partially by curiosity, partially by grattitude for his tremendous work in instructing people on the use of XNA and C# as a game development tool.

I couldn't regret it less. To be entirely honest, and after reading it from cover to cover, I have to say it's the best "condensed" and "readable" C# book I have in my programming library. I sometimes even use it instead of "Pro C# 5.0 and the .Net 4.5 Framework", to make some consultations.

Again, congratulations to the author, and I fully recommend this book to any beginner or intermediate level C# programmer. I'm sure you will get knowledge out of it.

THE book to learn C# programming!

I started XNA programming a few years back and found RB's website and his tutorials over a year ago. He has some of the best C# and XNA free tutorials out there. I would recommend checking them out.

When I heard he was writing a book, I was really excited because his tutorials are great. I was surprised, the book was even better than I expected.

Before getting into the book, let me describe my background with C#. I've been programming longer than I care to remember in C++, Assembler, VB, and even doing some light professional programming in C#. So, I'm not exactly new to C# or programming. Still, I never actually learned C#. I had been doing VB for years and switched over to VB.Net when it came out. Between that and knowing C++, I woke up one morning and realized that I already knew C# and just started programming. Because of that, there have been some gaps in my C# knowledge.

I actually wanted to be the first one to review this book because I was so excited about it. I immediately bought it and started reading. This book is less "dry" reading than most programming books, but its still a programming book. It had been so long since I had sat down and read a programming book cover to cover that I had forgotten how much work it can be trying to read a technical tome. But again, I would say this book was as easy as any other programming book I've ever read to get through.

I made it about 2/3rds of the way through the book, even learning a few things in spite of having been programming in C# for a few years semi-professionally. And then Microsoft abandoned XNA and I pretty much lost all interest in C# and Microsoft in general. It was actually Microsoft's decision on XNA that was mostly responsible for me never completely finishing the book and ultimately not writing the review.

But anyway, it was such a good book that I decided I should go ahead and write the review based on reading about 2/3rds of the way through it, as someone who knew C# fairly well before reading the book. That makes it a little difficult for me to take the perspective of an absolute beginner, but it appears to me that this book would be perfect for beginners as well.

Basically, this is by far the best C# book I've read. It doesn't cover XNA at all, but if you wanted to do XNA (even though Microsoft no longer supports it) through Mono or something, I would strongly recommend reading this book first. The book is written in an understandable way so that even an absolute beginner can start with this book. And yet at the same time, it takes you through the intermediate level of C# programming all the way to the door of advanced C# programming (to go much further than this book takes you, you would have to get into the internals of Windows or Assembly language or something along those lines).

Even though the title suggests a game, this book is not about game programming (or any specific type of programming); its about learning C#. And it does not disappoint. I would recommend it for anyone from a teenager wanting to start learning programming on their own, to IT professionals that think they might have a few gaps in their knowledge. It pretty much covers everything.

And RB has a gift for teaching. He's able to take advanced concepts and make them accessible to anyone. I think that's probably the reason to buy this book over any other C# book on the market. I own a few C# books, and this one is certainly my favorite.

So, to sum it up. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn, or get better at C# programming.

Great Book for beginers

I bought The C# 2010 for Dummies Book a few years ago. After 2 chapters, I was lost and gave up. I tried to pick up C# again, however, I bought this book instead. I am very pleased with how the author explained each topic. The author progresses the book at a very good pace, building on top of what you just learned. I highly recommend this book to anyone starting out programming, anyone going to C# from another language, or any seasoned C# vet to use as a reference.

Not helpful for PA Galloway line

I purchased the book to see what her research had to say about the PA Galloways. This book include lots of unfounded assumptions that the author takes for fact. While I appreciate the challenge of this research, I didn't find it helpful in proving or disproving any of my own research questions. I will review her bibliography for further research however.

Stock ( Armien's Fishing Trip ) returns to Africa in her latest work, which follows a girl on her trek to a small village school near the Limpopo River in Zimbabwe. Her full-spread watercolors, highlighting the variegated browns and greens of the African veld, beautifully depict the country's diverse land formations, vegetation and animal population. Her narrative, too, paints a picture: "The calls of the woodland kingfishers tremble through the air as Manyoni crosses the fever tree pan . . . and enters the shady kloof where the shy impala feed." Action is minimal--the text is more vignette than story--allowing the reader to concentrate on the sumptuous landscapes. Stock concludes with a glossary, a picture dictionary of the various animals that appear in the illustrations and a brief note about how she set about painting them. The endpapers, notes Stock, contain copies of cave paintings "made by indigenous people . . . thousands of years ago. The land and its inhabitants probably appeared very much to them as it did to me." Ages 4-8.

Kindergarten-Grade 3-In text and illustrations, Stock tells the story of a child's long walk to school in rural Zimbabwe. She begins her journey in the family's outdoor kitchen and, along her way, passes a giant baobab tree, the dry bed of the Limpopo River, a bushpig foraging among the fig trees, baboons near the malala palms, the woodland kingfishers, the kloof (ravine), the koppies (boulders), the krantz (cliffs) above the dam, and the plains that lead to the village where her school is located. The book concludes with a much-needed glossary of unfamiliar geographical words and a picture list of the animals featured in the text. While the watercolor illustrations are certainly accurate and quite lovely, there is no story to speak of- only a chronicle of the girl's lengthy trek. The expansive double-page spreads provide plenty of opportunities for youngsters to search for Manyoni and to identify a rich array of wildlife. While the narrative is not as strong as the artwork, youngsters will enjoy this glimpse at a universal experience in another part of the world.

As seen in Stock's beautifully rendered impressionistic watercolors, which were painted in rural Zimbabwe, this is an idyllic world, untouched by man except for ancient cave paintings (seen on the endpapers), a few pleasingly decorated thatched huts, and a tractor and some domestic animals in the village. Wild animals and birds are on almost every spread--more than 30 in all, recapitulated in a final illustrated note. From the simple title spread of lacy baobabs against the starry purply-lavender dawn sky, a lovely book that draws the reader right in with Manyoni, among the rocks and trees. Pronouncing glossary. Great book!

My girls (aged 7 and 2) both loved this book. We treated it as a mystery--after each page asking "where is Manyoni going?" It really kept the girls' attention while we looked at the beautiful illustrations and tried to guess her destination. I agree with the other reviewer's comparison to "Where's Waldo?". In the illustrations, it gets progressively more difficult to spot Manyoni as she gets smaller and smaller in relation to the surrounding landscape. My 2-year-old often could spot Manyoni much more quickly than I could. This book is a simple but entertaining story, beautifully illustrated and a nice introduction to southern African ecology and culture. Highly recommended, especially for pre-school children and those with an interest in Africa!

Can I give this more than 5 stars? My kids love this book (and so do I). When we read it, they take turns on alternate pages "finding" Manyoni (almost like a "where's waldo" thing). The illustrations are breathtakingly beautiful. The story is simple and sweet. And did I mention the illustrations? You'll love it as much as the kids will!

About the Author
Junji Ito debuted as a horror manga artist in 1987 with the first story in his successful Tomie series. Uzumaki, drawn from 1998 to 1999, was adapted into a live-action movie, which has been released in America by Viz Films and Tidepoint Pictures. It's influences include the classic manga artists Kazuo Umezu and Hideshi Hino, as well as authors Yasutaka Tsutsui and H.P. Lovecraft.

One of the best Horror comics ever!

I had read nearly all of Uzumaki before this deluxe edition was revealed, but I just had to have it. The book was shipped through Amazon and was actually fairly well packaged (No wrap though. If Amazon would at least take the time to wrap books in some sort of protective paper/bubble wrap it would make many customers VERY happy).

The cover is gorgeous, featuring spot gloss on the title and the blurb on the back cover. What makes this book even cooler are the full-color endpapers and that it is presented in traditional manga format (reads right to left). The book is a complete collection of ALL of the Uzumaki comics including the lost chapter Galaxies and a new comic afterword!
While I am unsure of how the binding will hold up (it looks to be a combination glued/sewn binding) I am overall extremely pleased with the treatment of the material. Granted I would have gone crazy over an Omnibus edition that could lay flat from any page, I know this is likely the closest we fans will come.

Given the fabulous frills added into this book (random color pages and color chapter pages, excellent cover, etc) I must highly suggest this book to anyone interested in supernaturally charged, mind (&body!) bending horror. Author Junji Ito weaves an incredible tale full of shocks, scares, false hope, and intensely horrific images of humanity in conflict with forces it cannot understand. Add to that a satisfying conclusion (no spoilers!) and you have one hell of a read.

Yes, perfect.

Uzumaki is great, and this gorgeous hardcover collection is among my favorite books. It looks and feels as sexy as you would want a comic collection. All extra content from the previously released volumes are included. Sparse pages are beautifully painted in watercolor. I can't recommend it more than I would like to give it to you.

Ideal Product for Experiencing this Classic

Uzumaki is an unforgettable story that is amazing, disturbing, and unexpectedly thought-provoking. If you haven't read it already, buy this immediately.

By the length and open-close nature of the story, Uzumaki was in need of an omnibus. I'm sure there were omnibus iterations in the past but this the first I was aware of. Unlike many omnibus manga compilations, the book itself is not hastily put together with inconsistent gluing, paper-covers, and a flimsy back (I'm looking at you, Azumanga Daioh). The glue is consistent throughout all of the pages, the back is sturdy, and it's hardcover. It's built to last.

I give it 5/5 across all boards, and the price is irresistible. I'd expect to pay at least double for this quality.

extra: I read someone received a copy with a slightly dented spine, the one I received was as mint as it gets. The packaging I got with Amazon Prime was just Uzumaki in a box just big enough to hold the book. No bubble-wrap, no-nothing. I suppose this is kind of a hit-and-miss thing and isn't really a comment on the product itself.

This is just a weirdly scanned book, with no formatting, no ability to text search, etc. Seriously, If you're going to sell a scanned book, maybe work on the formatting, convert it to text, etc.

A True Wrestling Classic

While some of the spelling and grammer mistakes are glaring, reflecting it's plublishing date of 1912, a lack of editor, or both, this is quite possibly the single most important wrestling book ever writen. It's compatable with sport, self defense or Professional wrestling, even taking wrestling to a lifestyle equal to any modern martial art. From simplistic but effective locking and take down techniques to subtle yet ingenious transitions and holds this book is a must for the begining or experienced wrestler, covering both the stand up and ground elements, concepts of stamina and endurance, tempo and strategy equal to any classical fencing teacher, a focus on internal health ewual to any tai Chi or Qi Gung master, cross training with boxing to form a true mixed martial art, even practical self defense techniques, though all using somewhat date terminology " be ON TIME" " use your MENTAL STUFF", etc. The picture qulaity is very good considering it's time though you don't get multiple angles. It also features illustrations on workouts to help build a strong body and the man's philosophy not only of wrestling but of living a healthy, happy life as a wrestler. Truely a treasure at the level of Rick Flair and Larry the legend.

Awful, and that's not doing the book any justice of how awful it is

The kindle version, which is the one I have is a photo copy of an really old book with awful blurry pictures and barely readable fonds. Horrible photo copies as well, you can still see the folds and the crinkles on the pages of the copies. Would not recommend to even my worse enemies.

About the Author

David Newsome is a lecturer in environmental science at Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia. His research interests include investigating the environmental impacts of tourism and recreation in national parks and nature reserves, exploring the use of �avifauna as a nature based tourism resource and the management of human-animal interactions.

Susan Moore is part of the School of Environmental Science at Murdoch University in Western Australia. Her natural area tourism research includes human perceptions of impacts, and associated planning, management and monitoring concerns.

Ross Dowling is Associate Professor of Tourism and Head of the School of Marketing and Tourism at the Edith Cowan University, Joondalup, Western Australia. He is Treasurer of the Ecotourism Association of Australia and is Vice Chairperson of the Forum Advocating Cultural and Ecotourism in Western Australia. For his contributions to the environment he has been awarded a Mobil Environmental Prize and a New Zealand Conservation Foundation Citation.
