Informative, Picture-perfect
By Suneetha
It's quite easy to find stuff on the Nile or the Amazon, or even the Yangtze, but the rivers flowing through India are a matter different altogether. One can look up on the web, and fear the facts aren't quite right. Or grope about the government websites, none of them too clear about what they are saying. I am happy to locate a book on Indian rivers at last, and more than that, a book which talks about rivers other than the Ganges and the Indus. There really are other major rivers flowing through India, especially in the southern part, and its important to document the facts about them too. The format is indeed interesting, it takes a shutter bug and a wordsmith to work together and produce this excellence. The photographs will leave you amazed with their clarity and stories unsaid. It's good value for money to say the least and a book someone will pick and leaf through from your library book shelf.

Rivers explained
By Vasudha A
I love rivers and I liked this book a lot. Everyone who wants to learn more about India's major rivers should read it. In a simple and informative style, many fascinating facts about rivers and the importance of rivers in culture and religion are explained. Above all, I appreciate the authors for seriously discussing the environmental damage facing Indian rivers because of uncontrolled development activities.
